These courses will prepare you to represent The Period Purse at community events, markets, and tea chats. You’ll confidently greet attendees, share our mission, and answer basic questions about menstrual equity and reusable products.
To be certified as an Events Support Volunteer, you’ll complete:
Step 1: Period Poverty & Advocacy
Understand period poverty in Canada and how to speak up for menstrual equity.
Step 2: Reusable Period Products
Get to know sustainable period products and how to talk about them with others.
Each module includes short videos, a reference question, and a quick quiz to reinforce your learning.
Once you’ve completed both modules, you’ll:
Receive your official Events Support Volunteer certificate by email
Submit your availability
Be contacted by our team to schedule you into upcoming events
Get event briefings before each shift (location details, key messages, and activity plans)
You can revisit the portal anytime to refresh your knowledge before an event.
Events vary from farmers markets, college or university fairs, and conferences. Each one is an opportunity to meet people, share TPP’s mission, and answer questions about menstrual equity.
No. You’ll always be with at least one other trained volunteer or a TPP staff member.
Your enthusiasm and a readiness to engage! We’ll provide all materials, signage, and talking points. You may want to bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing if we’re tabling outside.
Most events are 3–6 hours, including set-up and tear-down. You can choose which events to join based on your availability.
